Configure serverless Azure metrics with Cloud Provider
Complete the following steps to configure serverless Azure metrics using Cloud Provider in Grafana Cloud.
Navigate to Azure serverless
- Navigate to your Grafana Cloud portal.
- In your Grafana Cloud stack, expand Cloud Provider in the main menu.
- Click Azure, then click Add your Azure resources.
- At the Configuration page, find and click the Azure metrics tile.
- At the Azure credentials page, click Add new credential. The Create new credential configuration page appears.
- Perform the following steps to:
- Configure access for Grafana Cloud to gather your Azure Metrics.
- Connect to the Azure account.
- Configure metrics.
Connect to Azure account
- In Azure metrics at the Create new credential page in the Name box, enter the name you want to give to your new credential.
- In the Client id box, paste the client id you want to create the credential for.
- In the Client secret box, paste the client secret.
- In the Tenant id box, paste the tenant id.
- Optionally, add tags. By default, resource information including tags are available on the resource_info metric. When you add a tag here, you can add tags to your Azure Monitor metrics or filter the Azure Monitor metrics collected by tags.
Configure metrics
At the third step of Configure metrics, select how you want your credential to get data into Grafana Cloud:
- Autodiscovery, which will get everything found in Azure to Grafana Cloud
- Setup manually, where you can pick which data gets to Grafana
Autodiscovery
- Choose autodiscovery to get everything found in the provided Azure account to Grafana Cloud.
- Click Create credential to finish creating your configuration and to begin collecting metrics.
Setup manually
- Select Setup manually from the third step of Configure metrics to begin customizing your configuration.
- In the Subscription id box, paste the subscription id you want to get data for.
- Optionally, select which resources to get for the current subscription ID. If no specific resource is selected, all resources associated with this subscription ID will be included.
- If any resources were selected, optionally click Edit Metrics to select which metrics, aggregations, and dimensions you want to get. If no specific setting is added, all discovered available metrics, aggregations, and dimensions will be included.
- Optionally, add multiple other subscription IDs. To do so, click Add another subscription id.
- Click Create credential to finish creating your configuration and to begin collecting metrics.
View your dashboards and alerts
On the Azure page, click the Configuration tab. Scroll to the Dashboards and alerts Installation section, then click Install dashboards and alerts to install prebuilt dashboards and alerts.
You can now view:
- Alerts
- Preconfigured dashboards list
Add, edit, or delete a credential
To add a credential, on the Azure credentials page click Add new credential.
To edit a credential:
At the Azure credentials page, open the edit view by one of these methods:
- Click the name of the credential.
- Click the three-dot menu icon next to the credential.
Select Edit.
In the Edit credential view, make your changes.
Click Save credential.
To delete a credential, at the Azure credentials page you can use either of these methods:
- Click the three-dot menu icon next to the credential, select Delete, then click Delete to confirm.
- Click the name of the credential.
